Rental Agreement Terms And Conditions For Cruzy Rental
Welcome to Cruzy Rental, New Zealand’s premier car rental service. At the core of our operations are reliability, customer satisfaction, and flexibility. We’re dedicated to meeting your needs with a personal touch and a commitment to quality.
Vehicle Description & Term of Hire
The owner will let, and the Hirer will take, the motor vehicle described in the Rental Document (“the vehicle”) for the term specified therein.
Persons Who May Drive the Rental Vehicle
The vehicle may be driven only by persons named on the Rental Document or a supplementary driver’s sheet, provided they hold a valid driver’s license.
Payments by Hirer
The hirer agrees to pay the hire sum specified in the Rental Document and authorizes the owner to charge all amounts payable to the hirer’s nominated account.
In addition to clause 3, the hirer is liable for additional charges including fees for additional drivers, underage drivers, extra distance driven, fuel, road user charges, late return, damage or repair costs, cleaning fees for excessive dirtiness, traffic and parking infringement fees, administration fees, and debit or credit card surcharges.
The owner will charge these amounts during or after the hire term, or as otherwise agreed.
If the hirer fails to pay as required, the owner may charge interest and additional collection costs.
Use of the Vehicle
The hirer agrees not to use the vehicle for unauthorized purposes, including passenger transport for hire unless agreed, subletting, or illegal activities. The vehicle must not be used in a race, driven by unauthorized or unlicensed drivers, driven on excluded roads, or used in breach of traffic laws.
Hirer's Obligations
The hirer must take care of the vehicle, maintaining proper fluid levels, tire pressure, and ensuring the vehicle is securely locked when not in use. The hirer is also responsible for ensuring that all authorized drivers are aware of and comply with these terms.
Owner's Obligations
The owner will provide the vehicle in a safe, roadworthy condition.
Mechanical Repairs and Accidents
In case of an accident or breakdown, the hirer must notify the owner immediately. Unauthorized repairs or salvage are not permitted except to prevent further damage.
Return of Vehicle
The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location at the end of the hire term or as otherwise agreed for an extended term.
Liability
The hirer is liable for loss or damage to the vehicle and third-party property.
Insurance
Insurance options are provided. The hirer may use their own insurance, subject to the owner’s approval. Exclusions apply as detailed in the agreement.
Traffic Offences
The hirer is responsible for all traffic and parking offence penalties.
Cancellation of Hire Agreement
The owner may terminate the hire and take possession of the vehicle if the hirer breaches the agreement.
GPS and Optional Coverages
Terms for GPS use and optional excess reduction coverages are outlined.
Privacy Policy
The hirer’s personal information will be used and disclosed in accordance with the privacy policy, primarily related to the hire of the vehicle.
